Since we’ve opened, we’ve been dedicated to changing the lives of people one person at a time, through martial arts, education and coaching. We strive to provide a safe, comfortable and welcoming atmosphere for all students and family members in the Quincy and Hannibal area. We take pride in creating an environment for individuals to achieve, develop and succeed in their personal goals.
We strongly believe that martial arts can be for everyone, regardless of age, gender or experience levels. Throughout all of our programs, students will not only learn the necessary skill sets to protect themselves, we stand behind our realistic and practical approach, confident it will enable every member to achieve greatness and live their best life.

Senior Master
Robert Bentley
Owner & Chief Instructor
Head Jiu-Jitsu Coach
7th Degree Black Belt
Mr. Bentley has been training in taekwondo since 1996 and is currently a 7th degree black belt. He is also a Master Instructor in the ATA and a Level 3 certified instructor. He has earned over 30 state titles and has finished top ten in the world in 2001, 2010, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020. Mr. Bentley is also a certified instructor in Krav Maga and Haganah. He is a black belt in jiu-jitsu.
Taylor Howerton
Taekwondo Instructor
Kids Jiu-Jitsu Coach
6th Degree Black Belt
Mr. Howerton has been training in taekwondo since 2002. He is a Level 3 certified instructor and a purple belt in jiu-jitsu. He is currently a master candidate in the ATA. Mr. Howerton teaches our tiny tiger and kids jiu-jitsu programs in Quincy.
Eli Combs
Taekwondo Instructor
Hannibal
5th Degree Black Belt
Mr. Combs has been training in taekwondo since 2005. He is a Level 3 certified instructor and a blue belt in jiu-jitsu. He is the 2025 IL State Champion and 2024 District Champion in Xtreme Weapons. Mr. Combs is the chief instructor at Legacy Hannibal.
Debbie Shierling

5th Degree Black Belt
Mrs. Shierling began her martial arts journey in 2009. She is a Level 3 certified instructor, a 2022 world champ in traditional weapons and a 2023 world champ in team sparring. She teaches our Leadership and Black Belt classes in Quincy.
Jonnie Lynn Goodwin
Taekwondo Instructor

4th Degree Black Belt
Miss Goodwin began her martial arts training in 2014. She is a Level 3 certified instructor and a gray belt in jiu-jitsu. She teaches our Beginner Martial Arts classes in Quincy.
Jen Bradshaw
Program Director

3rd Degree Black Belt
Mrs. Bradshaw joined her children in training in 2018. She is a Level 3 certified instructor and a 2023 world champion in creative weapons.. She is the program director for our Quincy location.
